Common Area Design in Banshundhara R/A, Dhaka

2100 ft² Apartment

The common areas of this 2,100 ft² apartment in Banshundhara R/A, Dhaka have been designed by DIT Studio to make a lasting impression. Spanning the dining room, hallway, wash station, and utility zone, the design combines classic white wall panelling with striking gold-tinted diamond-pattern mirror work, a crystal chandelier, and contemporary furniture. The result is a series of shared spaces that feel grand yet thoroughly functional for modern family life.

Dining Room with Crystal Chandelier and Gold Mirror Wall

The first view presents the dining area head-on. An eight-seater dark grey rectangular dining table occupies the centre of the room, surrounded by elegant light beige upholstered chairs with slim black metal legs, all arranged on a soft grey-blue area rug. Above, an ornate gold-and-crystal chandelier with candle-style bulbs hangs from a layered white false ceiling fitted with recessed spotlights and a modern brushed-gold ceiling fan. The left wall features classic white panel mouldings framing a large gold-tinted diamond-pattern bevelled mirror panel that reflects the room’s chandelier and artwork, creating an illusion of expanded space. Mauve curtains and sheer white panels dress a large window at the far end, allowing natural light to filter in. A wall-mounted split AC unit sits above the curtains. On the right wall, a bold geometric abstract painting in red, black, and beige tones adds a contemporary art accent. Brown horizontal-slatted wooden doors on both sides provide access to adjacent rooms.

Wash Station and Utility Area

The second image showcases a dedicated wash and utility zone within the common area. A floating vanity unit with a white vessel basin sits against a grey marble-effect accent wall, above which hangs a large round gold-framed mirror. Warm LED strip lighting runs vertically along a gold trim beside the vanity, creating atmospheric illumination. To the right, a front-loading washing machine is neatly housed beneath a wall-mounted grey storage cabinet with open shelving holding small potted plants and toiletries. On the left side, a white kitchen-style display cabinet with decorative arched glass-panel doors and a ribbed lower section holds storage jars on a marble countertop. A brown wooden door in the background leads to another room. Recessed ceiling spotlights provide bright, even overhead illumination.

Transition from Utility Zone to Dining Room

This wider angle captures the connection between the wash-and-utility area on the left and the dining room on the right. The round gold mirror, vessel basin vanity, and washing machine alcove are visible on the far left, while the marble-effect accent wall and tall grey storage cabinet mark the utility zone boundary. A brown wooden door separates the two areas. The dining room opens up on the right, with the white panelled wall and its large gold diamond-mirror feature prominently displayed. The eight-seater dining table with its centrepiece of white vases and dark decorative foliage is visible beside the window. The crystal chandelier and brushed-gold ceiling fan hang above, and the layered false ceiling with recessed lighting ties both zones together visually.

Close-Up of Dining Table and Gold Mirror Feature Wall

A closer perspective of the dining room highlights the bold gold-tinted diamond-pattern bevelled mirror set within a white classical panel frame. The mirror reflects the chandelier, artwork, and the room’s proportions, amplifying the sense of space and luxury. The dark grey dining table is styled with white ribbed vases, a small planter, and a book, while the beige leather-look chairs provide comfortable seating. The brown wooden door on the left, the crystal chandelier overhead, and a modern brushed-gold ceiling fan on the far left complete the composition. A wall-mounted AC unit and mauve curtains are visible on the right, framing the natural-light source.

Dining Room View Towards Crockery Display and Living Area

The final angle looks from the window end of the dining room towards the opposite wall, where a white crockery display cabinet with arched glass-panel doors sits above a white sideboard. Through the open passage behind the cabinet, a glimpse of the living area with its grey sofa is visible. The dining table with its white vases and dark foliage centrepiece stretches into the foreground, flanked by the beige chairs. On the right, the gold diamond-mirror feature wall reflects the room once more, while a large abstract art canvas in red and black hangs on the left wall beside a brown wooden door. The crystal chandelier and the brushed-gold ceiling fan are visible overhead, maintaining the room’s signature blend of classic and contemporary style.
