This 1,600 square foot apartment on Road 10, Plot 19 in Uttara Sector 6 was designed as a bright, modern family home where every piece of furniture was drawn for the space. Working across interior design, lighting design and custom furniture design, we kept the palette clean and white, layered in fluted wood panelling and warm brass detailing, and gave each room a clear purpose, from a dedicated prayer room to a playful loft bedroom for the children.
The home proves that a compact footprint can still feel generous. Custom cabinetry, built in seating and made to measure wardrobes let us use every corner, while crystal chandeliers, brass fans and cove lighting keep the whole apartment feeling warm and elegant.
An Open Common Area for Family Living
The living room is wrapped in fluted vertical wood panelling, with a backlit arched niche framing botanical mural artwork. We designed the cream sofa set, a three seater plus a loveseat, and dressed it with burgundy and grey cushions around a two tone coffee table. A ribbed texture TV feature wall with a floating console and chrome sconces anchors the lounge, lit from above by brass ceiling fans and a crystal chandelier.
The dining area sits just beyond, finished with coffered grid wall panelling and a custom marble top waterfall table surrounded by cream and grey upholstered chairs with gold capped legs. A crystal drum chandelier hangs above, and a pass through connects to white glass front display cabinetry, marble counters and under cabinet lighting, so the cooking, dining and living spaces read as one continuous, sociable floor.
A Serene Master Bedroom
The master bedroom centres on a diamond quilted upholstered accent wall behind a custom channel tufted headboard in soft taupe grey. Along one wall we built a six bay white wardrobe with carved sunburst medallion panels and brass bar pulls. An arched mirror nook with backlit shelving and brass candle style sconces adds depth, while a dedicated dressing zone with an arched window seat, a gold framed mirror and a custom vanity console turns getting ready into a calm daily ritual.
A Refined Second Bedroom
The second bedroom takes a modern, grown up direction. A fluted wood slat accent wall sits behind the bed, topped by a brass sunburst wall sculpture as the focal artwork. We designed the white wardrobe with fluted lower panels and brass pulls, added a matching nightstand, and lit the room with a distinctive gold cord and glass globe pendant. An arched mirror nook with backlit shelving displays handbags, and a perforated ceiling medallion with cove lighting finishes the space.
A Dedicated Prayer Room
One of the most personal spaces in the home is the prayer room. We laid dark walnut flooring and set two matching prayer rugs side by side, then framed the area with tall arched Islamic lattice jali screens, backlit in warm LED so the geometry glows softly. A custom black rod suspended bookshelf holds books, plants and objects, a compact study desk with a round tufted chair makes room for quiet reading, and a branch style crystal and gold chandelier ties the prayer and study zones together. It is a space designed for both worship and focus.
A Playful Girls Bedroom
For the children we built a pink and white playhouse loft bed, complete with a brick pattern facade, arched window cutouts and scalloped canopy trim. Beneath the loft sits a cosy tufted nook in dusty rose with plush toys, and a staircase leads up to the raised bed. We designed the matching wardrobe with oval arched panel doors, a floating vanity console, a round porthole bookshelf and a pink study desk, with backlit shelves on both levels for toys and figurines. It is a room built to grow with the child and make everyday play part of the design.
A Compact, Modern Kitchen
The kitchen uses high gloss pale grey blue cabinetry, custom fitted top and bottom with brass toned hardware. A concrete look backsplash and continuous under cabinet lighting keep it bright, a black angled chimney hood sits over the gas hob, and a tall cabinetry column integrates a built in oven and microwave beside a stainless steel double sink. Every run was planned to make a small kitchen work hard.
