Step in from the formal lounge and a marble topped table stands directly ahead of you, ringed with gold framed chairs and set under a shelf panel that runs the full width of the wall behind it. The table is laid with blue rimmed plates that match nothing else in sight. Nothing in the fixed scheme argues with them, which is the point of keeping the shell neutral.
Look right from the same spot and glass fronted crockery cabinets stand beside a painted forest panel with a gold ring chandelier over them. Look left and the room opens to the kitchen through a gold circle screen. Three of the four walls carry a different treatment, which sounds like too much until you notice that every piece of metal in all three is the same brushed gold.
The Table, Straight Ahead
The table top is a single marble slab with a squared edge, sat on a solid base rather than legs so chairs can be pushed in anywhere along its length. Gold frames on the chairs are slim enough that the top reads as the heavier object. A dining table is one of the few surfaces in a home that changes appearance every day, between breakfast, a work laptop and a full setting for fourteen, so nothing fixed around it was allowed to have an opinion about colour.
The same stone appears again as insets in the wardrobe doors of the luxury master bedroom design in Gulshan 2, cut from the same block so the veining runs on. That kind of carry through only works if the stone is bought once, at the start, for every room that needs it, rather than reordered in stages across a build.
The Long Wall and Its Shelf Panel
Behind the table, gold shelf panelling is set into the wall with sconces mounted between the shelf runs. The shelves are shallow, sized for a bowl or a pair of objects rather than for books, and the sconces throw light sideways across them so each shelf has a lit face and a shadow under it. This is decorative joinery, not storage, doing the job a very large artwork would do in a different scheme.
Shelves at that depth need their lighting planned as part of the joinery drawing, not added later. The sconce backboxes sit inside the panel build up, which is why no conduit shows and why the shelf spacing is uneven in a way that looks deliberate. It follows the fixture centres, not a rule. Joinery that decorates rather than stores comes up constantly in our common space design service, and it is always drawn with the electrician in the room.
The Crockery Run and the Mural
On the right hand wall, tall glass fronted cabinets hold the crockery, each shelf lit from within so the contents rather than the cabinet becomes the display. A painted forest panel runs beside them, the only piece of natural imagery anywhere in the shared rooms of the flat, and it softens a palette that is otherwise marble, glass and metal. A gold ring chandelier hangs over the junction between the two.
Cabinet lighting here is switched separately from the room. After dinner the main fittings can go off and the crockery run stays lit, which is how the wall works in the evening. The Wall Behind You, in Monochrome
Turn round and the wall you came through carries a black and white photographic hang set against more gold shelf panelling. The frames are matched in profile and width, and the spacing between them is even in both directions, which is what lets a group of small pictures hold a wall this size. Monochrome was specified rather than colour art on a simple count: gold, marble and a green mural were already committed, and a fourth colour would have tipped the room over.
That wall runs on to a glazed partition and, beyond it, the sitting area covered in the modern family living room design in Gulshan 2. Standing here you can see three rooms at once, which is why the panelling stops at the partition line instead of turning the corner with it.
The Kitchen End and the Breakfast Bar
The far end opens toward the cooking side of the flat. A fluted wood island with a marble top runs as a breakfast bar under two drop pendants, with a round gold mirror mounted on the wall behind it and a marble faced mirror panel alongside. The fluting on the island is the warmest material in the room and it stops the bar reading as an extension of the kitchen cabinetry.
A gold circle screen separates the dining side from the working run and the refrigerator. It filters instead of blocking, so you register movement and light through it without seeing a worktop mid use, which is what an open kitchen at this scale needs. Standing at the Door Again
From the doorway once more, with three wall treatments in view at once, the thing holding the room together is a single gold finish repeated across every metal element: chair frames, shelf panelling, ring chandelier, circle screen and round mirror. One gold, ordered once. Approve three golds separately over a build and the room reads as a collection of good decisions rather than a room.
