Perched on the ninth floor of a quiet address in Basabo, Sabujbagh, this 3,000 square foot residence was designed around one clear idea: a white themed home that feels elegant without ever feeling cold. The family wanted classic character with the ease of modern living, so we built the whole apartment on a warm white palette and layered it with brass detailing, marble surfaces and soft, warm tone lighting. The result is a home that reads bright and airy through the day and turns intimate and golden after dark.
Every room was planned as part of one visual language. Fluted and channel tufted textures repeat from the living room to the bedrooms, gold and brass fixtures tie the spaces together, and cove lighting traces the ceilings so the light always feels built in rather than added on. This is what modern classical interior design looks like when it is done for the way people actually live.
An Open Common Area Built for Gathering
The heart of the apartment is a single open plan volume where the living, dining and kitchen flow together under wide archways and a coffered ceiling. We centred the dining zone on a white marble table framed by cream and charcoal upholstered chairs, then hung a brass five arm chandelier alongside a slim crystal pendant to give the room both sparkle and warmth. Glass front china cabinets in white display the family’s dishware, while a green and gold marbled canvas and a framed turquoise ocean wave photograph add quiet colour against the white walls.
Turn toward the living room and the feature wall does the talking. We wrapped the television in a wavy, ribbed three dimensional panel, flanked it with brass wall sconces and floated a white console beneath it. Beige sofas layered with burgundy and charcoal cushions sit on a patterned grey rug, and gold ring chandeliers and a mirror collage keep the eye moving across the double height sitting space. Bronze ceiling fans and large format grey floor tile run throughout, so the whole common area feels connected and calm.
A Serene Master Bedroom Suite
The master suite continues the warm white theme in beige and taupe. A vertical channel tufted headboard anchors the bed, framed by geometric textured wall panels and matching sconces, with white nightstands and gold hardware on either side. Twin bronze ceiling fans sit in a coffered ceiling above floor to ceiling curtains layered over sheers.
We gave the suite its own walk in dressing area, lined with white wardrobes detailed in gold X strap panels and backlit open shelving for books and objects. A vanity nook with a mirror and a striped ottoman handles everyday getting ready, and a quiet sitting corner with brown swivel chairs, a round marble side table and fresh white tulips turns the bedroom into a private retreat.
Children’s Bedrooms with Character
The boys bedroom takes a confident grey and gold direction. A channel tufted headboard sits between gold corded pendant lights, an arched gold framed mirror stretches the wall, and a built in wardrobe with a smoked glass sliding door hides lit shelving. We tucked a study desk into the corner with open, lit bookshelves so work and rest share one considered space.
The girls bedroom softens the same ideas into taupe and grey. Here an arched tufted headboard pairs with houndstooth cushions, a wardrobe carries gold vertical pulls and carved floral panels, and a vanity dresser with a gold arched mirror gives a dedicated spot for cosmetics and handbags on lit shelves. A fretwork sconce panel and a bronze fan finish the room over light grey tile.
A Restful Guest Bedroom
The guest bedroom keeps the palette grey and gold and leans into texture. A vertical piped tufted headboard sits below tree and mountain landscape mural wallpaper, balanced in other corners by a dark wood vertical slat accent wall. A built in wardrobe and white dresser vanity, a gold framed arched mirror and a round grey pouf make the room feel generous and ready for visitors, while layered sheer and blackout drapery keeps it easy to rest in at any hour.
A Bright, Functional Kitchen
The kitchen blends taupe flat panel cabinetry with white shaker fronts and marble look countertops. A black angled cooker hood anchors the hob, a beige stone look backsplash and under cabinet lighting keep the work surfaces bright, and a black side by side refrigerator with a digital display brings modern convenience into the classic scheme. White French doors with frosted glass and gold pulls connect the kitchen back to the rest of the home, so cooking never feels closed off from the family.
The Result
Across 3,000 square feet, this Basabo apartment proves that a white themed home can be full of warmth and personality. Modern classical detailing, warm tone lighting design and a consistent material story turn a large floor plan into a home that feels both grand and genuinely comfortable.
