2000 Sq Ft Modern Classical Apartment, Bashundhara Block-L

This 2,000 square foot apartment on Road 11 in Bashundhara R/A, Block-L was designed as a modern classical home where crisp white surfaces meet warm gold detailing and honest marble. The brief was timeless elegance that still feels current, so we built the whole home on a white palette, layered in raised panel wainscoting and fluted wall treatments, and let brushed gold fixtures carry the classic character from the entrance through every bedroom.

Marble runs as a thread through the apartment, from accent walls with soft grey veining to waterfall counters and dining tops, while gold ring chandeliers, crystal fixtures and slim wall sconces keep the light warm. The result is refined without being formal, a home that looks composed and lives comfortably.

A Layered, Light-Filled Common Area

The living and dining zone is the showpiece. We defined it with raised panel white wainscoting, a white marble accent wall with grey veining, and a fluted feature wall for the television. A white fretwork lattice divider with glass shelves and backlit niches separates the living and dining areas without closing them off, so light and sightlines carry across the floor.

Beige sofas and swivel armchairs with charcoal cushions sit on soft grey rugs around nested marble top tables, while an oval marble dining table with taupe upholstered gold leg chairs anchors the dining side beneath a gold ring chandelier and a crystal fixture. A tall built in display wall of backlit cubbies gives the family a curated place for vases, books and objects, and marble tile flooring ties every zone together.

A Modern Classical Kitchen

The kitchen pairs light grey shaker cabinetry with brushed gold bar pulls and a marble waterfall island fronted with a warm wood slat detail. A cluster of frosted glass teardrop pendants on brass stems hangs over the island, glass front upper cabinets display white dishware under warm lighting, and a built in oven and microwave stack sits alongside side by side refrigerators. Marble counters, backsplash and flooring keep the room bright and cohesive with the rest of the home.

A Calm, Elegant Master Bedroom

The master bedroom centres on a wood tone vertical slat headboard framed by white three dimensional geometric wall panels with gold trim. Gold vertical sconces and a gold ceiling fan warm the space, while a full wall of mirrored and frosted glass wardrobes with gold bar handles adds storage and light in equal measure. A fluted TV feature wall with a floating console and backlit shelving faces the bed, and a dedicated dressing area with a gold framed mirror and floating vanity desk completes the suite.

Three Distinct Bedrooms

Each additional bedroom carries the same design language with its own personality. The first pairs a charcoal upholstered bed with a white fluted feature wall lit by cove lighting, gold ring and ball pendants, and a floating vanity dresser. The second builds around a gold sunburst mirror on fluted panelling, adds a floating study desk with a grey velvet chair and backlit shelving, and warms charcoal bedding with a rust orange throw. The third uses two tone cream and taupe channel panelling behind a tufted headboard, with a fluted TV wall, a backlit bookshelf and a compact desk workspace. Across all three, white fluted wardrobes with gold pulls and grey rugs over marble look tile keep the family rooms unified.

At 2,000 square feet, this Bashundhara Block-L apartment shows how a disciplined white palette, real marble and warm gold detailing come together into a modern classical home that feels bright, elegant and genuinely liveable. Every space, from the layered common area to the three individual bedrooms, was delivered as a complete interior design and lighting design project by DIT Studio.
